                    On October 15, a panel of five judges read and critiqued 51 essays submitted for Area Agency on Aging’s  “My Favorite Childhood Memory ” essay contest. Four winners and an Honorable Mention were selected.

First Place winner of $100 was Vill Allen of El Dorado; Second place and $75 went to Helen Atkins Downs of Hope; the Third Price winner of $50 was Louise Ransom of Waldo; the Forth Place winner of $25 was Betty J. Foster of EL Dorado; and Honorable Mention went to Alice Fain of Ashdown.
Judging was based strictly on the authors’ ability to express themselves clearly an focus on one particular moment in their childhood that made a lasting impression.
