The 16th biennial Silver Haired Legislative Session (SHLS), will be held at the Arkansas State Capitol in Little Rock on August 20-21, 2008. Delegates from counties throughout the state will act as legislators in this non-partisan session by writing, debating and voting on bills addressing issues critical to older Arkansans. If you are interested in being a delegate from your county in the Southwest Arkansas region, call the Area Agency on Aging of Southwest Arkansas, Inc., at 1-800-272-2127 for a petition. Petitions must be returned to the AAA no later than Friday, February 29th.
