WHAT IS ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE? (Pronounced Alz-hy-merz)

Alzheimer's Disease is a progressive, degenerative neurological disorder that attacks the brain. The disease results in impaired memory, thinking, and behavior. It is the fourth leading cause of death among adults. More than 4 million Americans suffer with Alzheimer's. One of every three families is affected.

OUR MISSION

As an affiliate of the Alzheimer's Alliance, our chosen mission is to provide education and assistance to people with Alzheimer's disease, their families, and caregivers.

If you would like to honor the memory of a deceased victim of Alzheimer's disease with a memorial, please print out and complete this form

Items purchased for the Resource Center with these funds will be identified as purchased in memory of the deceased.

SUPPORT GROUP

The EI Dorado Area Alzheimer's Support Group meets at noon the third Thursday of each month at Beverly Healthcare. All interested individuals are cordially invited to attend.

FREE TELEPHONE SUPPORT FOR CAREGIVERS OF INDIVIDUALS WITH ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE !
 
Care Connection is a FREE telephone support network service for caregivers of individuals with AD and related illnesses jointly sponsored by the Alzheimer's Foundation of America and Ask Dr. Jamie.  Every Thursday  at 10 pm Central time. The telephone support network offers caregivers support, education and connection to other caregivers and professionals.  Special guest speakers and experts provide interesting and practical topics each month.  Caregivers from anywhere in the U.S. can join up to 150 people who are on the line to learn, listen and participate.  Participation is voluntary and anyone can partake to their individual comfort level.  Listen to previously recorded conferences at http://www.askdrjamie.net/selfcareradio.html.
